From the Church Wardens at St Martin's:
St Martin's is now open for corporate worship (normal services are resumed!!). You don't need to book your place, just sit where there is a "green tick". Your "bubble" can all sit on the same tick.
However we would like you to book in with us for the Carol Service on the 20th and for Christmas Day in advance . See at the end of this post for contact details
If numbers for Christmas Day are too great we will possibly have "two sittings" at 10-00am and 11-00am but we will keep you informed. Please book early so that we know the numbers as soon as possible.
Look forward to seeing many of you again but please continue to wear masks, sanitize, and keep socially distanced

The tower has been renovated . The  result with its golden weather vane and the new clock face is now clear for all to see. An interesting story has been told about Buffalo Bill. It was reported that he visited the church and shot the weather vane over his shoulder ! When it was removed a bullet hole was found in it . Make your own mind up

FRIENDS OF ST MARTIN

The Friends of St.Martin group was set up in February 1985 to provide a way of enabling people who because of past association with Ashton-upon-Mersey and its church might like to give some financial support to the maintenance of the fabric of the church and churchyard.
Many visitors to the church have memories of their family connections with the area, perhaps had attended St.Martin’s day school, been baptised or married at St.Martin’s, or have relatives buried in the churchyard.
Those who subscribe as a “Friend” of St.Martin’s receive a newsletter twice a year which gives them news of what is happening in the church, repairs to the fabric etc.
We ask for an annual subscription of £20 from those who would like to make a contribution to the upkeep of this church.
Should you wish to donate more then this would be most acceptable.
Applications for membership may be made by
e mail
